Sheila is a Senior Lecturer in Performance at the University of Salford. Her research and teaching interests include Applied Theatre and Socially Engaged Practice. With publications in these areas, she has also developed her research to include interests in Performance and Health, subjects explored in her 2017 book Applied Theatre: Creative Ageing (Bloomsbury, Methuen) Practice as Research project Death, Dinner and Performance Project: A Study of the Efficacy of Performance to Enhance Conversations Around Death and Dying (ongoing) and current research on Dementia, Relationality and Play.
